On April 23–25, 2026, the 34th edition of the International Medical Students’ Conference (IMSC) took place at the Jagiellonian University Medical College Didactic and Congress Center. IMSC is one of the largest and most prestigious scientific conferences for medical students in Europe.
This year, we registered a record-breaking number of 560 submitted abstracts. A total of 489 participants attended the event, including 359 active participants presenting their research and 130 passive attendees, representing as many as 52 countries. The impressive international attendance created a unique environment for exchanging knowledge and experiences, while also fostering connections in a multicultural and inspiring atmosphere.
The conference program included 31 scientific sessions covering various fields of medicine, during which participants had the opportunity to present the results of their research and take part in numerous lectures and practical workshops. This year, we successfully organized 24 workshop panels focused on improving clinical skills, including ultrasonography, vascular suturing, valve surgery simulation, and battlefield medicine.
During the conference, we also had the honor of hosting outstanding keynote speakers. Dr Ali Jawaid delivered a fascinating presentation on the epigenetic mechanisms of transgenerational trauma, while dr hab. n. med. inż. Klaudia Proniewska-van Dam, prof. UJ introduced participants to the applications of the latest technologies and virtual reality in medical imaging.
The 34th edition of the International Medical Students’ Conference concluded with a lavish Gala Dinner — a perfect opportunity for young scientists from around the world to network and integrate in an international atmosphere.
Approximately 150 distinguished scientists and renowned physicians ensured the high academic quality of the event. More than 100 volunteers were also involved in the preparation and smooth execution of the conference.
The event was granted fourteen Honorary Patronages, including those of the Minister of Science and Higher Education, the Rector of the Jagiellonian University, and the Regional Medical Chamber in Kraków. In addition, the conference received invaluable support from 37 Scientific Patrons, further emphasizing its high academic standing.
For three days, Kraków became a space for presenting research, engaging in lively discussions, and building connections among students and young physicians from around the world, encouraging the exchange of experiences and perspectives in an international environment.
We would like to sincerely thank all Participants and already invite you to take part in IMSC 2027!
